Follow the progress of Hemolens Diagnostics
February 13, 2025
Hemolens Diagnostics® has been accepted as a member of the Avicenna Alliance, an international organization of companies and research entities advocating towards wide adoption of computer modeling and simulation in medical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. Avicenna Alliance’s mission aims to complement traditional methods to deliver faster safer and more affordable health care to the patients. This is an important step in developing methods to support cardiac diagnostics.
Predictive medicine or “in silico medicine” as a broader term, is the use of computer modeling and simulation in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention of disease, and development of products.
The Avicenna Alliance currently brings together more than 70 players in medical innovation. Collaborating with international experts will allow us to participate in the development of cardiovascular modeling standards and methods for assessing coronary blood flow, which in the future may find application in clinical practice after obtaining the appropriate regulatory approvals.
By joining the Avicenna Alliance, Hemolens Diagnostics® finds itself among internationally recognized medical and medtech companies such as Edwards, Boston Scientific, Ansys, and VPH Institute representing scientific and research institutions. As one of the first Polish companies in this prestigious association, we have the opportunity not only to represent the growing potential of domestic innovation in the medical sector but also to pave the way for other Polish companies to develop advanced diagnostic technologies. Our presence in the Avicenna Alliance is a clear signal that Polish technological thought in the field of digital medicine is reaching a level recognized by international experts, which can contribute to increasing the visibility and competitiveness of the Polish MedTech sector in global markets.
Being a member of the Avicenna Alliance will give Hemolens Diagnostics® access to expertise in medical imaging and computer modeling. Together with other members of the organization, they will participate in the development of guidelines for the use of computer modeling and simulation in cardiology. It is also an opportunity to integrate technological solutions into ongoing research.
„I am looking forward to joint activities within Avicenna Alliance, which I believe, will help us in wide adoption and implementation of in silico technologies in CAD diagnostic products.” said Ziemowit Ostrowski, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Director at Hemolens Diagnostics®.
