Breakthrough ideas, real-world clinical partnerships, and discussion of future directions in global cardiology shaped this year’s BESDKARD meeting. Our technology not only aligned with the conference’s objectives but also won the Start-Up Challenge competition, securing first place by receiving a decisive majority of votes over other finalists.
The III edition of Beskidzka Akademia Kardiologii i Innowacji Medycznych (BESDKARD), held from November 5 to 7, 2025, in Bystra, is one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing meetings in Polish cardiovascular medicine. In just a few editions, this forum has evolved from a local gathering into a major scientific event, attracting leading specialists from across Poland and Europe. The conference brings together interdisciplinary expertise to address the most pressing clinical challenges, showcase new technologies, and foster dialogue among clinicians, researchers, and innovators in cardiovascular care.
Insight: The inaugural BESDKARD conference drew over 500 participants, and the number of attendees has continued to grow with each subsequent edition.
The BESDKARD 2025 scientific committee for the cardiology track included distinguished experts such as Prof. Dariusz Dudek, Prof. Antonio Esposito, Prof. Maciej Banach, and Prof. Łukasz Kołtowski. Key panels focused on innovative treatments for structural heart disease, practical aspects of cardiac rehabilitation after myocardial infarction, modern strategies for clinical trials, and advances in cardiac surgery robotics. Notably, Prof. Dariusz Dudek, in his keynote lecture on the role of artificial intelligence in cath-lab decision-making, featured our technology as an example during his presentation. These sessions promoted practical skill-building and fostered discussion of real-world clinical challenges.
One of the conference’s most anticipated events was the Start-Up Challenge, which honors the most groundbreaking medical technologies. On the second day of the conference, our team delivered a pitch presentation that introduced the solution to the event’s audience. Presented by Prof. Ziemowit Ostrowski (Chief Scientific Officer) and Paweł Paluch (Commercial Director), Hemolens Diagnostics®’s project competed in the Start-Up Challenge final against several other teams. Our presentation earned first place, winning by a substantial majority of votes.
The atmosphere at BESDKARD made a big impression on us. As Prof. Ziemowit Ostrowski shared, it’s a truly unique event – not only because of the high level of discussion, but also thanks to how open and inspiring the interactions between specialists were.
– The organization was excellent, and the atmosphere truly welcoming. I’ve attended since the very first edition, and it’s remarkable to see how much the event has developed. BESDKARD was a great opportunity to connect with outstanding experts in cardiology, and as a start-up, it allowed us to better understand the needs and expectations of key opinion leaders. Winning the Start-Up Challenge alongside such strong competitors was a highlight for us and made the experience even more rewarding, said Ziemowit Ostrowski.
Paweł Paluch also noted how much positive feedback we received from doctors.
-The specialists I met at BESDKARD responded to our technology with noticeable kindness and openness. Several experts expressed interest in our work and mentioned they are looking forward to seeing our solutions become part of everyday clinical practice, emphasized by our Commercial Director.
Participating in BESDKARD 2025 provided Hemolens Diagnostics® with a valuable opportunity to meet professionals from the cardiovascular community. The event allowed our team to present the current development status of our technology and receive feedback from experts specializing in digital health and medical imaging. We appreciate the invitation and thank the organizers for facilitating professional exchange and constructive discussion.
The next conference we will be attending is ESC in Berlin on November 21–22, 2025. We invite You to visit our stand.
