Rebranding is a process aimed at changing one or more elements of a brand’s image communication. This includes changes in the name, logotype, color scheme, or method of communication. The need for rebranding stems from market changes or the emergence of new trends and is also connected to internal changes.
For the past seven years, Hemolens Diagnostics has been continuously developing unique technology for the non-invasive diagnostics of stable coronary artery disease. Development is an indisputable part of technology companies as well as the medical environment. We incorporate ground-breaking solutions into our projects, without forgetting our overall brand image. With the growth and expansion of our company in 2022, it is time for change and to rebrand. We invited ZIIJN Studio to collaborate on the design of the new visual identity for Hemolens Diagnostics. In December 2022, the design of the new visual identity for Hemolens Diagnostics was distinguished out of more than 2,900 applications from all over the world in the prestigious International Creative Media Awards competition. The design by ZIIJN was awarded a bronze medal in the Graphic Design, Identities category.
The design uses custom typography, color scheme, and logotype. The name Hemolens Diagnostics fully reflects the direction in which the company is developing, combining critical elements of technology. The first part of the name ‘Hemo’ comes from the word hemodynamics, which is a branch of medicine that deals with the dynamics of blood flow. Lens’, on the other hand, emphasizes the company’s focus on diagnostics based on computer-assisted fluid flow analysis, which we develop.
In the words of Studio founder Imre Jernei: “In designing the new identity for Hemolens Diagnostics, we encountered many challenges. Together with the Hemolens team, we faced a daunting task that required us to dig deep into the company’s history and learn about its mission, vision, and values to build the right brand culture and visually appealing identity. The new visual identity design is also designed to help present the benefits of the service in a way that both doctors and patients can understand.”
